“What’s
in A Name?”
Well
what is in a name? It is who you
are and your word rests upon your name. If you cheat your name will be that of a cheater if you are
evil your name will be that of evil but as Proverbs 22:1 says; “A good name is
more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or
gold.” Your good name may very
well save your life one day. But
beware pride because that name is a name hard to erase.
Your name, is it a good name in the eyes of God?
Now that is where you want to have a good name.
A good name can be handed down from generation to generation and one bad
apple can spoil the whole bunch. What’s
in a name? The name of Jesus Christ is good to those who believe and
have a relationship with Him yet His name calls up anger and hatred amongst
worldly people. So a name can bring
emotion and a name can bring up pain but we know that this name is the Name of
Love and this name is also the name of a Warrior bent on conquering evil.
So this Name brings joy and peace to many but brings fear and anger to
most. The name of Jesus Christ has
power that has no equal. What’s in a name? What’s
in your name? Is you name held in
esteem in heaven? Will your name be
honored on the Day of Judgment or will it be a name that brings eternal
damnation in hell? What’s in a
name?
