“Wisdom
From The Pub?”
I
heard a cheer from the drinking section. Don’t cheer too loud.
From God’s Word in Proverbs 20:1 it says and I quote “Wine is a
mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.”
Not wise! It isn’t wisdom
from the pub it is the lack there of. I’m
not saying it’s a sin to go and have a pint.
The Bible says it isn’t wise. Getting
drunk is the sin or maybe not a direct sin but it leads to all kinds of sin.
If you want to get technical all things that pull your vision off of
God’s plan is sin. If getting
drunk takes your eyes off of Jesus then it is a sin.
Then again it also says in Proverbs 20:9 and I must quote again, “Who
can say, ‘I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin’?”
Well there isn’t one of us out there that can say that.
In all this sin we wallow in there is Good News, we can all be taken out
of that sin and cleansed so that we can have a pure heart even if
for a moment before we sin again and have to go through the Living Water
body wash again. I don’t know
about you but I have to stay in that line I hear that maybe we can get frequent
flier miles, just kidding. Jesus
Christ is the ONLY One who can rescue you from the grips of alcoholism, or any
other sin for that matter. He is
not called the “Living Water” for nothing, because if Jesus sets you free
you are free indeed.
