“Proverbs
of Solomon”
The
wisdom of Solomon as given him by God. “Proverbs”, short sermons in each verse, wisdom beyond
anything we could think of on our own much less understand if we didn’t have a
relationship with Jesus Christ. Without
that relationship these would be just words on a page but through Grace the Holy
Spirit has been given to us and He leads our days so that these Proverbs have
meaning and depth in our lives. Because
of this we are able to understand and sink our teeth into the meaning and adapt
them into our daily lives and share them with our children that their wisdom
grows as they grow. You want an
instruction manual to raise your kids well you’re reading it, it is the Holy
Bible. Let’s look at a few and
the first one is profound and so true.

The proverbs of Solomon:
A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son grief to his mother.
Oh
but let’s not stop there number 2 is just as profound and true as the first.

Ill-gotten treasures are of no value,
but righteousness delivers from death.
We
all know that instant gratification leads only to pain and suffering because of
the hugely inflated price that we must pay for that instant gratification.
Ill-gotten treasure is all that it is.
Those of you that have been in financial ruin because of the credit cards
and because of a mortgage that sounded too good to be true yet you got it anyway
and now you are in foreclosure. Oh, I have been there done that bought the
t-shirt and sold it at a garage sale and DON’T want it back thank you very
much. It takes years to get back what you lost in an instant, trust me when I
say this because I am still paying for it 10 years after the fact and will be
likely paying for it still 10 years from now.
We all make mistakes but if we will use the wisdom God has given us we
can avoid much pain and suffering in this short life we live here.
This is our training session for eternity; gain as much wisdom as you can
now so that once we do get taken home we won’t have to spend so much time in
re-training school. Wise men store
up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.
