“Wisdom
is Supreme”
By
the title alone you can tell this is a powerful chapter in Proverbs.
The 1st verse alone is strong, “Listen my sons, to a
father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.”
Then it goes on to say, “I give you sound learning, so do not forsake
my teaching.” Well how many of us
as children listened to sound instruction from our parents?
I say, not many. Back in the
time this was written things were passed down from generation to generation by
listening attentively. And here we
go again with wisdom being a she and her in verse 6 it says, “Do not forsake
wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.”
Well I don’t know about you guys out there but I can grasp these
teachings. I understand the
importance of taking care of my woman. As long as she is happy I will be happy and in times of
trouble when things happen to me she will stand up for me. Too bad it took me so long to learn that.
But I had every opportunity that anyone else has to pick up the Bible and
read but as a young man I failed that part and I have no one to blame but
myself. Enough of that I have been
forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ and am thankful.
But wisdom is supreme; get it! Do
not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
