“Further
Benefits of Wisdom”
I
found it interesting that as we read Proverbs 3 Solomon has changed wisdom into
her and she. This is obviously
geared towards men because we drool over a pretty woman and when we see
something as lovely we tend to stare and want. So what better way to get men’s attention then to dangle
wisdom as a beautiful woman. The
other thing that is perfectly clear here as well is that we should not depend on
ourselves because when we think we are wise we are a fool because wisdom comes
from God and His wisdom is beyond that of our own wisdom for He is Wisdom and
not just “wisdom” but Perfect Wisdom not lacking anything and way beyond our
own finite thinking. I really like
what verse 3 and 4 say:

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
You
will win a good name in the sight of God AND man.
Love is the key to wisdom. Write
love on your heart and live every day in love and wisdom is abundant in your
life and you will not only win favor with your brothers and sisters in Christ
but with God. But we have to take
that first step to wisdom and that is to get rid of flesh and begin our walk
with Christ. If you have not given

Interesting
tidbit, the phrase “Trust in the Lord” is only found 15 times in the NIV and
ALL in the Old Testament and 8 are in Psalms.
