“David
The Man After God’s Own Heart”
God
gave David much power and much wealth yet David was a sinner just like us.
David failed and committed horrible sins against God yet God didn’t
stop loving him and God never disowned or changed the fact that David was a man
after God’s own heart. In this
way God loves us and would never disown us or stop loving us because we
committed sin. The difference between David and you is that Jesus Christ
paid the price for your sin. David
committed adultery and murder and he told lies too.
He coveted as well and yet God let him live because he repented of his
sin and the child that was conceived in adultery was taken from him.
But even after this God blessed them with another child and that child
was Solomon and he was given more than David ever had.
Point here is that no matter how many times you fail God forgives because
He loves you above all things and your sin is paid for by Jesus Christ.
So if you fail you need only to seek forgiveness from Jesus and repent
and be restored. This doesn’t
mean there will not be a price because there is always a price to pay for sin.
David’s price was the loss of his child and that is a heavy burden.
Don’t underestimate the power of the Most High God.
Yes He loves us and yes He sent His Son Jesus to ransom us but never
think for a moment that He will not punish us for what we do.
I have a question to ask, even though you were forgiven as a child did
you not still have a price to pay for the wrong you did?
