“Miracles
Still Happen”
About
a year ago I met a homeless couple at the local Jack in The Box Restaurant where
the boys and I like to frequent. At first I was quite nervous about the young lady talking to
the boys and I was a little bit judgmental.
But you know God He likes to stick it to me when I am wrong and boy was I
wrong. I was amazed that every time we were at Jack they were there too or just
across the street or just getting off of the bus.
One day I invited them to eat with us and they were so appreciative and
kind. These guys had a story but I
wasn’t going to pry it out them I wanted God to move and move me.
I saw that they were desperately trying to get their lives back together
and make things right again and as I grew to know them and started sharing more
and more about Jesus to them and showing Micah and Zachary by example of how we
are to treat those in need. The
young lady would let me know when she was going to have an interview and I would
get them a hotel room and her bus fare so she could make a good impression on a
potential employer. I kept them fed
as much as I could afford but they were still doing odd jobs and scratching up
enough to keep themselves fed for the most part.
But work is few and far between in the winter months when it rains a lot
and the other day I ran into them and her husband this time he met me at the
door and shook my hand and gave me a hug, first time by the way, he was normally
very quiet and to himself rarely ever speaking.
He told me he had some good news and told me not only did his wife find a
job but he found one too both on the same day.
PRAISE GOD! I shouted out. As
we spoke the husband said to me “Thanks to you and God we are going to be
OK” . I corrected him and told
him it is because of God that you are going to be ok.
He said yeah your right but He used you and we are thankful.
I told him we could all be a vessel for God’s miracles if we want to be
and he agreed and asked if they could come to the place where I preach so they
can be part of the church. PRAISE
GOD! Again I shouted. This man and
woman had been sent packing by the majority of the churches in the area but when
God used me to bring them Hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ, God
showed Himself to them and they will be blessed.
These two will be on the radio program in time to give their testimony on
how God has truly saved them from the pits of hell; you don’t want to miss it.
