Here
we go; David becomes king over Israel, then conquers Jerusalem, defeats the
Philistines, the Ark of God is brought to Jerusalem, God makes a promise to
David that his family will rule in Israel forever, David says a prayer,
David’s victories are listed and then his officials are listed.
Now when David brings the Ark into Jerusalem there is great celebration
and David dances in front of the Ark and his wife from Saul, Michal, didn’t
think it very kingly of him.

When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came
out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself
today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar
fellow would!"

David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than
your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD's
people Israel—I will celebrate before the LORD. 22 I
will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own
eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor."

And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
Be
careful what you say to God’s anointed. In
every case that we have read something not so nice has happened to those who
have been ugly to God’s anointed. Something
to think about on your Thursday.
