Well the Moab king didn’t get his curse on
the Israelites but the Israelites brought a curse upon themselves when they
took the Moabite women and had inappropriate sexual relations with them and
ate and bowed down to their false gods and the Baal of Peor. They
brought a plague amongst themselves that killed 24,000 people. You
know when God says don’t do it then you would think that they would have
listened. Well I say that yet we live in a world that does
the same thing. But there are those of us that are like
Phinehas that are zealous for our God and refuse to sit idly by while the
stiff necked people of this world continue to sin against The Creator.
Although we cannot legally take a spear and run them through we can
speak out against the sin of this world we live in and choose to live our
lives for God and His will and be an example of what TO do and not bow down to
the evil of this world. Now that was just from chapter 25.
The next chapter is a new census taken of the men twenty years of age
and older and there were 601,000 of them and there were 23,000 Levite males, 6
months of age and older, that are kept separate because they did not receive
an inheritance of land. In chapter 27 the ladies get taken
care of which I thought was cool in this male dominant time. Also
Moses was reminded that he was not going to be allowed to go into the promised
land because of his sin in the Desert of Zin . So at Moses
request God is putting Joshua in place as leader to the Israelites but he will
not be allowed to be face to face with God and will have to go through Eleazor
the priest to speak with God. Chapter 28 is listing the
different BBQ days. Oh I mean offerings. You
know that God taught the Israelites to BBQ, right? Actually
the Levites did the cooking and God said it is an aroma pleasing to His
nostrils. It is mine too. God Bless
