OK, we made it to the end of Leviticus.
In these last 4 chapters we will discover the command for oil and bread
set before the Lord, someone that blasphemes gets stoned to death along with
that eye for an eye tooth for tooth saying that everybody loves to hate.
God calls for a Sabbath YEAR. A whole year of no
planting in order to give the fields a rest. Wonder if
anyone here still does that. We will also read about my
favorite season and I think it is one that should be revived for everyone and
that is the Year of Jubilee. This is a time when all debts
are forgiven and slaves are set free and land is returned to its owner oh yes
and then we take a look at the reward for obedience. See
God isn’t all do this don’t do that. He rewards those
who are obedient and punishes those who aren’t. Finally
God closes this book on how to redeem what is His. A tithe
of everything from the land, weather grain from the soil to the fruit of the
tree belongs to the Lord, it is holy to the LORD. Now that
we all understand that and all these laws are now burnt into our minds we will
have a greater understanding of why Christ was sent to redeem us from the
LORD. It is virtually impossible for any one person to
follow ALL of those laws without slipping on occasion. We
are humans made of flesh and God gave us this free will thing which we are to
give up once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. I
really think we need a good understanding of the redemption process that God
has laid out here because this is what Christ has done for us. We
were redeemed through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He
was our lamb, without blemish, perfect and clean, made Holy by God.
This is another example of how deep God’s love for us is.

to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who
knocks, the door will be opened."
