Remember yesterday I said here comes the sin.  Well the sin was from within the ranks of the leadership.  Go figure the very men that were to be training the rest of the people were the first to fall.  They paid with their very lives.  When God says not to do something or you will die then I would say maybe you shouldn’t do it? Nadab and Abihu were sons of Aaron who were just ordained into the priesthood and these boys took their incense bowls and presented unauthorized fire before the LORD.  They were instantly consumed by fire.  When Moses saw what had happened he repeated words that God had spoken and Aaron kept silent not saying anything to what had just happened to his two sons.  Here is something else interesting the bodies were carried outside of the camp away from the community.  No burial is mentioned only that the families were allowed to mourn but were not allowed to tear their clothes as was a custom in those days.  In chapters 11-13 there are more regulations first on what foods are to be considered clean or unclean and then on purification after childbirth.  A woman after giving childbirth was not even allowed into the temple area for a minimum of a month.  And today we close out with infectious skin diseases and mildew.  Isn’t that just a lovely thought?  God had His reasons for these regulations because they would have all ended up dead from their own bodily waste.  There are several places in history where man has almost killed everyone around him with his own bodily wastes.  Oh wasn’t that just another lovely closing thought?  I feel like I need a bath now.  God bless you all!  There that was better.
