I love God so much. He likes a good BBQ too.
The very first law in Leviticus is what? The burnt
offering, God says, “it is an aroma pleasing to the LORD” I
tell you with all those Israelites they were BBQ’n round the clock.
Beef and goat and mutton and squab. Good times, good
times. But seriously folks the sacrificial system was not
an easy one to follow and these first 5 chapters of Leviticus cover the burnt
offering, grain offering, fellowship offering, sin offering, and the guilt
offering. God is very specific on how the animals are to be
prepared, how the priest are to handle the blood and what parts are to be
burned up in the alter fire. It even covers how a person
handling the animal is to be cleansed with water. So I
imagine they had a lot of places where there was washing going on.
Remember the size of this group of people? It said
in Exodus there were 600,000 men not including women and children so we are
talking about 2,000,000 people here and that is why I said they must have been
cooking around the clock. Knowing how I am, I would be
sacrificing something on an hourly basis to atone for my sin and God called
the Israelites a stiffed neck people so I know they were at the alter a lot.
I hear Aaron now,” Stephen you back again? What
did you do this time?” “Well Aaron it’s like
