In these closing chapters of Exodus the tabernacle and all of the contents were built.  There are very complete descriptions of everything that was built all the way down to the fasteners.  Lots of gold and animal skins were used to build this traveling tabernacle known as the Tent of Meeting.  The glory of God dwelled within the tent until it was time to move on.  It is said that in the day light there was a cloud and by night there was a cloud with fire so that all of Israel could see it.  When the cloud lifted it was time to pack up and move on.  Now tomorrow we will begin Leviticus.  This is a sometimes difficult read but let’s go in as if we were lawyers studying for the bar exam.  We need to know and understand these laws because it will help us in later books to understand why they did what they did and also to help you understand and get a better knowledge of Christ.  Christ said He didn’t come to abolish the laws but to fulfill them.  Well this book is part of the law that Christ was coming to fulfill.  I think they are difficult for some people because of their simplicity.  The sacrificial system is the most difficult to understand but the laws themselves are not.  To remember how many bulls to sacrifice or if you use goats, lambs or doves is the hard part.  But hang in there it’s all gravy after this?  Be sure that before you start reading each day that you ask God for purification and to open your heart to receive His word.  Ask Him to put His word clearly into your mind that you may store it in your heart.
