“Being an Individual For Christ”
I know that we have a lot of teens that get
the PRaP and I want to speak to you. Parent’s and other
Guardians read and share. As most of you know I have a son
that is going to be 12 soon and he is going through changes right now.
He is currently seeking his individuality. Wanting
to be different from the rest of the crowd or trying to fit in somewhere in
this place we live. He had been trying to hide his conduct
sheets from me because of his behavior lately and of course as I always tell
both the kids it came back to me and I found out. I have
been giving a little freedom for him to find himself and we discuss his
choices of music and friends. Well I have allowed him to
choose while I have been watching LOL. He loves the
hardcore rock and roll. Well in that choice I have been
able to guide him to bands that are Christian and he gets what he wants and I
get what I want. I know where he gets this love of rock
music. I was a head banging rock n roller at times in my
young life as well. Difference is I didn’t have a guide
to the right kind of rock n roll. Well actually there was
no Christian heavy metal or hard core when I was younger so the path I was on
was not the right one. I give praise to God that there are
choices for our kids today. It is ok to be an individual or
in a group of individuals as long as you don’t lose focus on Christ.
He is the one that gives you your Salvation and He is the only one you
can go to when you make a mess of your life to get cleaned up. Being
Christian does not mean your perfect it actually shows imperfection because
you depend on a Higher Power to help you. God is the
Highest Power you will ever be able to reach and the only way to reach Him is
through His Son that is on the same level. The Son is Jesus
Christ and there is NO other way to get there. One Path!
The spiked hair will take some getting used to but I choose not to
fight the battle of clothing and hair. I also do not approved of tattoos and
piercing for only Christ is to be pierced. If you have
already done the tattoo doesn’t mean you can’t be Christian. Those
too can be forgiven. Please take out the bars and the
tongue studs and the other piercing that you may have in unmentionable places.
I play a program on c2C Ministry called “Leave The Piercing to
Jesus” it is a must listen if you have teens or you are thinking about doing
these things to your body. It will be playing Saturday 12pm
Central time.
