“Hope”

I heard a message yesterday that really opened my eyes and my heart.  As most of you know that Mary has been stuck over in Ireland for more then a year now.  When we talk at times we are sometimes at our wits end waiting for this stuff to be over so she can get back here to the U.S..  But I heard a great analogy about a baseball team that had been waiting many years to win a pennant race and get to the World Series.  For years the fans would come out to the games and put up the signs and posters of hope in winning this year.  But as the years went by those signs and posters of hope began to disappear.  The fans gave up the hope of their team ever winning.  After all hope was gone the team began to win.  Finally they won the pennant and went to the World Series.  Let’s look at Abraham and Sarah.  God promised Abraham that his descendants would be like the sand of the Earth in numbers.  They waited years for this promise to be fulfilled.  Sarah and Abraham had lost hope of the promise and Abraham united to Sarah’s handmaiden and they had a son.  They thought that this was the promised child but they were wrong.  When Sarah was 99 she gave birth to a son, Isaac, (Genesis 21) who was the child that God promised.  So when you think there is no hope then think again because if God said it is so then it will be so.  If it is God’s plan then you must wait on His timing and not try and mess with it on your own.  As soon as you try and force the hand of God the blessing will be no more.  Read the story of Abraham and Sarah and get your hope back in God’s plan for your life.  I know we have and we know that in God’s time we will be united.  Speaking too of hope my mom and I will be walking in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.  This is a 5 mile walk tomorrow.  Please if you can make a donation click on the link or copy and paste the web address in your browser. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."
