“How to Get Out of Mediocrity”
For those of you that missed service
yesterday we were speaking on how our society has accepted being second best.
We have accepted the teachings of the evil one that we can never be any
more then the dogs lapping up the crumbs of our master. We
not only have accepted it but we are passing it on to our children and
grandchildren. We live in a society of almost 3 generations
of people who have never seen the inside of a church and over 1 billion people
that openly live in rebellion to God’s Word. The problem
can be relieved though. It is going to take lots of face
time though. The ones that call themselves Christian yet
are just as much in rebellion as the unchurched should be our first line of
defense. We must pray that God step in and clean them up.
Once they are cleaned up and back on track we can all get in some more
face time and pray for the lost of this world. We must live
as Christ. We must walk the walk and not just talk the
talk. We must show the world by example of our peaceful
living in compliance to God’s Word and not our own. We
must get out of our boxes and into the battle or we will be the remnant that
gave up on God. How do you use your time, talent, and
treasure? Do you use it within the box? How
many times have you taken the time to spread the Truth outside of your circle
of church goers? See I bet many of you said never. You have
accepted second best then. God has called all his children
to be disciples and go out into the world and spread the Good News about His
Son Jesus Christ and about the Salvation and Mercy and Grace abundant in His
Light. I am not telling you to stop greeting at the church
I am not telling you to stop serving in the church. These things are serving
God’s purpose too. You leave those things to the people
who no longer have the ability to go outside of the church to work.
Don’t you want to finish well? Don’t you want to
be on your knees in front of God on judgment day knowing that when you see His
face it will have a smile on it and you will hear the words, “Well done my
fine and faithful servant! Welcome, great is your
reward!”? Or are you going to accept mediocrity in
your eternity? Remember that your treasures in heaven can
never be taken away from you. Are you ready for an eternity
of mediocrity? I’m not! There is
coming a day that we will all hear this: "It
is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning
and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without
cost from the spring of the water of life.”
