“Guess What?”

 

There is a sinner in me.  The thing is we all struggle with it.  We all fall short of the glory of God.  Here is what Paul says about struggling with sin from Romans 7:

 

14We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.^[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

 

This brings up the point of hating the sin but loving the sinner.  Due to the fact that we all fall we also must all lift one another out of the pit of sin.  We must not hold grudges against those who sin against us.  Could what happened in Pennsylvania have been prevented?  If it was God’s will by all means it could have been.  I know that because of what happened a group of God’s people were hurt.  But everything that I heard from their lips was forgiveness.  No, I don’t think the Amish have God’s plan completely right but you know what, I think they are the closest to having it right.  Funny thing is Pastor Mary and I talk about when we get to heaven, God is going to take us all into this big room and tell us all that we got it wrong anyway.  I think that He will stand there and tell us, “Now that you have all done it your way it is time to learn it My way.  This is a Bible”.  Then we will all start over again.  So if you are in the Pennsylvania area Michael W. Smith is putting on a concert that will benefit the Amish community to help with the cost of the hospitalizations and funerals that need to be paid for.  Body of Christ it is time to immobilize and spread the Jesus in you to help our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  Allow the Amish people see that we care and love them too.

 

21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
      So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
