"King Solomon"

I began going through the Bible again this past week and I just started 2
Kings. As I ponder the things that these kings did and are known for I sat
back and I wondered if I would be capable of handling the wealth and riches
that God blessed Solomon with. In my prayers I ask God to give me the
knowledge to serve Him better. Similar to what Solomon asked for. God in
His infinite wisdom knows that if He blessed me in that way that I couldn't
handle it. That and the fact that I sin enough on my own without the added
wealth and knowledge. God seems to trickle down the stuff He wants me to
know and to use in His will for my life. One thing is for sure I wouldn't
want to have 700 wives to try and keep up with nor all the concubines that
Solomon had. The thing is God even warned Solomon that if he took foreign
wives that they would pull him away from God with their idols and foreign
gods. But Solomon didn't listen or he began to be puffed up in the
knowledge God gave him or maybe it was the great wealth that God blessed
him with. One thing is for sure when Solomon kept doing what he was doing
God took away some stuff. If you have never read this part of the Bible I
challenge you to read with an open heart and an open mind and allow God to
show you the lessons learned. I am changing up my prayers a little bit now
and I don't think that I want all that Solomon had. I want the discerning
heart to determine good from evil and I want knowledge. But I also want
the ability to control myself when it comes to sharing this knowledge. As
far as all the riches that Solomon was blessed with. Well I want enough to
live comfortably but not so much that it brings unwanted attention to
myself or my family. I do not want the kings of the world knocking on my
door and trying to manipulate the knowledge that God blesses me with. But
you know, now that I think about it, if I allow Christ to guide my heart
and I seek God's help with everything I do then even the wealth of Solomon
can be managed. But I still don't want 700 wives or concubines. See it
was sin that turned Solomon away from God. It is sin that turns us away
from God. I challenge you to read 1 Kings and 2 Kings and then tune into
http://www.c2cministry.org on Sunday at 10:30 AM central, 11:30 AM eastern
4:30 PM UK time for a message that God has for you, called "What's Up With
Your Stuff". This is a message that God has put on my heart to share with
you. As I always say on the radio, "Stay tuned God has a message for you!"
