"TGIF"
Thank God it's Friday!!!! We all shout that out on occasion. At least
those of us who work on Monday through Friday and have Saturday and Sunday
off from work. I have a question for you though. Do you drop your
spiritual guard as soon as you get off work on Friday? Or do you just pick
it up on Sunday and drop it after church on Sunday? Scripture is clear
that we are to die to ourselves DAILY. I do not see anywhere that it says
die to self on Sunday or just Monday through Friday. It says daily. Paul
speaks of it in Romans and in Galatians. I find that I have to really
focus on leaving my flesh behind on the weekends. You just want to chill
and lay around and maybe throw back a couple of cold ones. Well in your
chill time you should still be conscious of your surroundings. You still
need to die to your self and live in the spirit. Be sure that as you feel
the desires of this fleshly world surrounding you on Friday afternoon when
that whistle blows to tell you it's time to go that you say a little
prayer. Ask God to lead you into His rest for your weekend. Ask God to
show you what He wants for you to do. He may tell you to chill and throw
back a couple. He may have you invite an unsaved friend over to throw back
a couple cold ones and discuss who God is. It doesn't say in scriptures
that you can't have a cold one it just says not to get drunk. If you do
not have the self control to stop after one or two then do as I do and
don't drink at all. IT likes to use drink to kill, steal and destroy. I
choose not to throw back cold beer but I do throw back a couple of ice cold
frosty mugs of rootbeer. All the pleasure that I get from beer without the
drunkenness and the pain the next morning. No visits to the porcelain
throne in the mornings with rootbeer. No more multi colored yawns after a
night of clubbing. I know this all sounds kinda gross and maybe even a few
of you chuckled. But point here is that we are to stay in spirit all of
our waking hours. We have to learn to allow God to guide us in everything
we do. Even in our leisure time. So go out and grab a couple twelves of
rootbeer and have a party this weekend. I will be live on c2C Ministry
radio tonight and tomorrow night 8 PM Central Time 9 Eastern and as most of
you know I can get kind of wild and crazy so "Stay Tuned God Has A Message
For You!"
