"Come As You Are"
God wants you to come to Him as you are. He
wants the dirty tattered and torn. It is not the righteous that God
seeks but the lost. Jesus said to them, "It is not the
healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the
righteous, but sinners." this is from Mark 2:17. You go to some
churches and see all the fancy clothes and all the "bling bling"
dangling from their neck and their wrists. Don't get me wrong I think we
should dress for worship but I am talking about those places that if you
walked in the doors of the church with torn up dirty clothes smelling like,
well you know, and they escort them out. It is those people that God
wants at His table. Why is that we throw God's people out of His house because
they aren't dressed the way we think they should be dressed? Why is it
when someone that looks different then us do we fear them? I know of a
group of people who are constantly judged by their appearance and that are the
Christian Bikers. Pastor Jack, you and your crew understand exactly what
I am talking about. This home church is made up of mostly Bikers.
These are people who have a past. These brothers and sisters have
repented and accepted Christ, yet when they walk into a room people judge them
because of their appearance. Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors.
His Disciples were fishermen and tax collectors. He told them follow Me
and I will make you fishers of men. God doesn't care how bad you think
you are. God doesn't care when the last time you took a bath. God
doesn't care that you have nothing. All He cares about is that you seek
Him through His Son. Think about it
