"Focus"

Have you ever watched someone or have known someone that played a sport
professionally? Ever watch a winning team? Been involved with a winning
team? Pay attention to the focus of a person or a team that is playing the
sport. Their intensity of how they play. They eat, drink and sleep their
sport. They dream about it at night they speak about it during the day
they practice without fail and try to learn everything they can about that
sport. If we would stand up and take notice of this intensity and
implement it into our walk with Christ it would become more then a walk it
would become a trot and then a run for the finish line. If you are serious
about being on Christ's team then you need to get focused on His game plan.
If you are going to be headed to the finish line with Christ then you need
to practice daily. If you are going to be on this team you need to eat,
drink, and sleep for Christ. You need to dream about it at night and speak
about it during the day and you need to practice without fail. The world
doesn't see us as a winning team. The world now sees us as second rate at
best. Why is that? Well we neglect the play book. We don't read it. We
do not eat, drink, and sleep the sport. We have become weak because we do
not practice. We have decided that we will just take the play book and go
hit people with it as hard as we can and try and pound the plays into
peoples head. I got news for you. It don't work that way. You have to
read the book, then you have to live your life the way the book tells you
too. Then you let people see how you live your life and then let them
learn by example of your life. They will come to you and ask you what is
up with you. They will want what you have and want to become a team
member. How many of you basketball fans want to be like Mike? I ask you
why? Because he is one of the worlds best players of the game of
basketball. I am not a secular sports fan so I do not know all the sports
heroes of today but I challenge you to put the amount of focus in your
Christian walk as they put into their game and see how successful that you
can be with Christ. The Bible is your play book and Jesus Christ is the
coach. The goal is eternal life and you only need one point to win.
