"First Day of School"

Wow what a mad house it was at the school today. Getting school supplies
meeting teachers getting lunches handled. Talking to assistant principals,
counselors, and day care workers. Amazing how much stuff can be handled
in an hour. If you run. LOL It made me wonder and think about other single
parents like myself rushing around making sure this is done and that is
done. I wonder if they stopped and prayed like I did. I wonder if they
felt nausea when they got detached from one of their kids like I did today.
I let the boys ride the day care bus to school today so they would get
reacquainted with the routine. While I was waiting on them to get there I
was franticly racing through the halls trying to locate their teachers and
introducing myself and giving them my card so they would have contact
information. Then I went to the cafeteria for the school supplies blitz.
Seems that I wasn't the only one who waited until the first day of school
to get supplies. I saw people walking around with these HUGE boxes and in
my mind saying surely that whole box isn't for one kid. Boy was I wrong.
HUGE boxes one box per kid. I was shocked at all the stuff that was in
these packages but I was glad to get it all in one swoop. Thanks to some
kind people I was able to afford the $100 sticker shock of the supply
costs. They do not want to be mentioned and God knows who they are and
they will be richly blessed for their kindness. But I lost Zachary in the
midst of all the running around and turmoil that was happening. I knew he
was smart enough to get help if he needed it and to find a common place so
that someone would ask him questions. So I took a tour of the school and
sure enough I decided to hit the cafeteria again and there he was sitting
there eating breakfast by himself. I hugged him and when he finished I
took him to meet his new teacher. But this again made me think and pray
about something. Body of Christ, it is our responsibility to make sure
that the children of our family are covered in prayer during this time.
Not only them but the teachers, administrators, cafeteria personnel,
janitors, police, bus drivers, bus mechanics, crossing guards, building
maintenance, librarians, nurses, counselors, facilities maintenance and any
other person that is responsible for touching our children's lives. We
need to lift these people up to the Lord. I made a request of the Lord
this morning to show Himself with the miracle of zero bus accidents and
zero injuries in school. What a miracle that would be. Join me in
corporate prayer for all these people.
