“Yes I AM for the Great I AM”
Hi Steve, what a day and it is only a little after noon here…. You would
think it would be getting easier but it is not. The heat, the rain, the
food, bugs I know complaining and we were not sent here to complain. It
is
hard to draw the line between scientist and Pastor, but we know God has his
hands in all of it and that includes science too. The team here warned me
that I was walking a thin line-telling people about Jesus and we were here
for AIDS and not religion. Sad how some countries still kill people over
religion. You see it every day in the paper. A Missionary was killed or
beaten for talking about Jesus. No, I am not here to share the word of God
and no, I am not here to change them from what they believe. However, as
God is my witness I will not cover my light for anyone. I wear a small gold
cross on my lab coat and no words are needed at times to share the Gospel
of the Good News. I am not here to shove my belief on anyone but I will not
be silent to those who might ask me what that cross means to me. Shoot me,
rape
me, beat me and I fear not. I am a Christian before I am a scientist. Now
do not get me wrong here Steve, I will never force what I believe on anyone
that does not want to know. We were sent here to help with AIDS and I know
AIDS is not from our God. Our God does not destroy, our God does not want
people in pain and most of all God does not want death. Today a man saw
my
pin and looked over to the guards that watches over us and looked worried.
I smiled and so did he. He said to me that you are “BOLD” I looked at the
guard, then back at the man, and said, “Yes I AM for the Great I AM”. The
guard gave me a look to say do not say one more word. I smiled and knew I
was on that line and I knew not one more word was needed. My cross-had said
it all. I am not here to become a news story, and my mama raised no fool. I
am here to do work on AIDS and I pray it makes a difference. Nowhere in the
Bible does it tell us to force people to believe, they will come to God in
God’s time not ours. We as Christians are to share with people that the
road they are on, there is a bridge, and that bridge is out, and they need
to think about that. I cannot stop them from going down that road. All I
can do is water a seed, that seed that God had placed in side of them I
pray they got a drink of water to start it geminating. Now it is up to
them. Do they believe I was telling them the truth or not? That is up to
God to lay on their heart not me. I will share what I know to be true and
how God has worked in my life. No more no less and that light will be like
beacon in the darkness, like the little cross on my lab coat. You know
there are times I feel God does not want me to open my mouth and we need to
listen for that also. That is hard for me to do being an Irishman and a
woman but I am learning. I know there are times I do not want to hear what
God has to say to me, but that is part a part of being a Christian. So, I
said not one more word to that man and not one more word was needed for
that man to see my light. So I say to all Christians STAND on the line from
time to time. BE BOLD. May God Bless you and I’m so home sick please send
cans of RAID or Off bug spray. Love Ya….Pastor, (scientist) Mary Doyle
PS If you should forward this to anyone, I ask him or her to find the song
By Amy Grant called, For The Children Of The World. It is playing on my
laptop now and All Glory to the Lord God, Bless the Children of this world
Lord; we ask you this in Jesus Mighty name. Amen and amen.
