"Are You Sure That I Am Forgiven?"
Hebrews 4:16 says "Let us then approach the throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our
time of need." That tells me that when I make a mistake or I need comfort
or when I need guidance on anything at all Jesus is there ready willing and
able to handle the request. We approach with confidence, which is our
faith, that Jesus Christ will forgive, comfort, and guide us in anything.
I know that was redundant but it deserved repeating. How many times have
you found yourself stumbling around trying to fix something or you are so
depressed because of your sin or needed to make a big decision and didn't
know where to go? I just gave you the answer to your problem in the first
sentence, so there is no longer any excuse. It is sometimes difficult to
fall on our knees at the alter because we want to fix it ourselves. Well
we can't fix it alone. No matter what the problem, no matter what the sin,
no matter what the discomfort, only Jesus can set you free. When I say
free I mean free indeed. I sometimes wonder too, am I really forgiven?
According to this scripture I am. If you have the faith of a mustard seed
you can stand at the throne with confidence.
