"Wash My Feet?"

My scripture reading today had me in John when Jesus washes the feet of the
disciples. What an honor to have our Lord and Savior wash our feet. It
was more then ceremonial back then. They wore sandals and in the part of
the world they are in the ground was dusty and it was a needed event. But
the washing that Jesus did was to teach a lesson. The lesson in it is we
are to help one another. We are to wash one another's feet. He was
teaching us by example that none of us are too good to help someone in
need. As a Pastor I am not too good to wash your feet. And when you are
in need I will be there to do so. Right now I know that there are a few of
us feeling lonely. Mary is headed to Africa and we will miss her while she
is gone. I pray God touches each and every person in her path to receive
the Truth of who Jesus Christ is and what God is doing for them. I know
this isn't an official missionary trip but Mary sees all trips like this as
a missions trip. God called our beloved Mary to do what she does for her
trade and she is obedient to follow God's will in her life. I too am not
immune from loneliness while she is away and neither are my boys. But we
need to wash each others feet in this time and know that God has Mary in
His hands as well as all the others who are on this road trip. As the
science world anxiously tries to find a cure for Aids and HIV Mary and the
team with her are an intricate part of God's plan in giving us the cure.
They all know that it is because of God that cures for diseases are found
and not that of any man. Please keep this group of God's warriors in your
prayers as they go into the jungles of Africa to take blood from Aids
infected people and may He prepare the path for safe journey to and from
their destination. God will be glorified. For those of you reading this
and scratching your head wondering who Mary is, she is the Director of
Christian Connection Ministry (CCM) and a geneticist for a lab in Maine.
