"Small World"
I have a co-worker that shared a story with me and I would like to share it
with you. Remember we are in Houston population over a million LOL
Last week I got a flat tire on my way home from work (just south of Richey
Rd. on 45)... I was having trouble getting the truck jacked up and Terry
wouldn't answer the phone. I had called my baby sitter and my insurance
company. I asked my insurance guy if I had road side assistance. He said
I would have to pay them and he would pay me back. I didn't have the
money, so he was trying to find someone who would do it and go to him for
payment (he knows a couple of company's who would do it for us). Any way
while he was trying to call someone, I was getting the car jacked up, and a
tow truck pulled up and left before I could talk to him. My insurance guy
was still on the phone with me when this happened and he wasn't too happy
and I had already given him the company's name. Any way, I saw this guy
walking up to me to help from the other side of the feeder. So, I got a
phone number to call incase I still needed help, and I let the insurance
guy go. The guy came over and tried to get my lug nuts loose, but they
wouldn't budge. So, he went back to his truck to get a bigger 4 way from
the store where he parked, and bought me a water, though I told him I was
fine and had something to drink. When he came back he changed my tire and
helped me get the spare on. Luckily I had won a air pump from the safety
meeting here about a month ago, because my spare was a little soft. So we
hooked it up and let it run for a little while. And I was good to go. On
my way home I prayed for him and his family. I was thankful that God used
him to help me, and I didn't want to let that go without honoring our
father for his hand in all of this.
Friday, In the process of telling my friend about my hectic week, I told
her about my flat tire and this nice man who helped me for no charge. She
just sent me a email asking me if this was a big guy driving a gray
truck... and he was. Come to find out that it was her husband (who of
course I never had met or saw pictures of). He had told her about helping
this young lady who he thought had a child in the truck (because of the Car
seat).. how he stopped to help and how she looked like their youngest
daughter, which is something that she had told me many times... when I sent
her the email about having the flat. She knew right away that it was me...
WOW... out of the hundreds of cars who passed me and didn't stop. My
friends husband did. Not knowing who he was I was praying to God and
thanking him for this and for this nice mans family to be rewarded for
this. He is a new Christian, and I am thankful that God has worked wonders
in his life already, I just pray that things only get better for the two of
them, and the whole family, and that he can continue to go in the light of
our Lord...
This is a small world that we live in and God calls us to shine our light
that He has given us to shine. Here is a new Christian and actually the
young lady is a baby Christian herself and God crossed their paths. He
shined his newly formed Light to help someone in need not knowing that they
were closer then they thought. I am sure being on the side of the road in
Houston is an uneasy feeling and especially during rush hour. You just
never know who is going to stop or if there is going to be someone who
loses control of their car. But God has a plan and everything that happens
in your life is for a reason. There is no such thing as coincidence or
luck it is all a part of God's plan. Shanna prayed for the nice man and
his family to be blessed for what he had done and yet not only is God
blessing this family but He is blessing us all with this wonderful story to
use as an example to us all.
