"Who's Driving?"

Who's driving this morning? I know some of you missed the sermon yesterday
and I feel the Holy Spirit guiding me to go over our driving routine to
help keep it fresh on your minds today. Did you know that since God gave
us free will that He will give us the keys and let us drive? Yep, all you
need to do is tell Him to give you the keys so you can get behind the wheel
and drive your life. He will just smile and hand them to you. He will ask
you if you know where the ignition is and most of us say, "Sure do, now
hand over the keys!". God will just shake his head and watch from a
distance. I say from a distance because God promises to never leave us or
forsake us so He will stand back and watch you. God will allow you to
drive and you can go as fast as you want. Go ahead open her up and see
what she will do put the pedal to the metal. You look down and before you
know it your doing about 150 and you look over to your left and you notice
train tracks and a train go a little faster then you. And you just shrug
it off and kick back and cruise. Well God will ask you if you know where
the brakes are and of course you know where the brakes are you've driven a
car before. Then you notice a traffic signal ahead and it is flashing red
because it crosses the train tracks with the train that is running parallel
to you so you put your foot where the brake would be if it were "your" car.
But you just remembered this is not your car and this is of God and you now
have no clue where the brakes are and you begin to panic and you start
saying, "Hey God where's the brakes?" and He replies, "You know how to
drive you figure it out". Well that sends deep panic through your mind
because you do not have a clue where the brake is and even though you took
your foot off the accelerator the car isn't slowing down. What to do? What
to Do? Well if it were me I would be on the floor on my face seeking
forgiveness and asking God to please stop the car. He will stop the car
and then He will tell you to get out. You are then left on the side of the
road. Now what are you going to do? You have no clue where you are and
there is no phone, no map, and no one around. If it were me I would be on
my knees seeking "The Guide" of life. The One and Only that can rescue me
from myself. Who is this Guide you ask. It is Jesus Christ. You see only
a life with Jesus Christ will keep you from self destruction in this crazy
world. When you get rid of your stinkin thinkin and allow Him to lead you
in everything you do. Your family, your job, and your fellowship. You
will see changes around you that are nothing less then miraculous. Let God
invite you into the car and then let Him drive. As long as He is at the
wheel that train of life cannot hit you.

"The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called failure, a
loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends, red lights called
enemies, caution lights called family. You will have flats called jobs.
But, if you have a spare called determination, an engine called
perseverance, insurance called faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make
it to a place called success." author unknown
