"Earn Treasure In Heaven"
There are 59 passages in the Old Testament about treasure or treasured and
19 in the New Testament. But Matthew 6:19-20 says it all for me: 19"Do not
store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves
do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also. My heart is with my Daddy God and what He has to offer me
for a job well done. Even if I get nothing but a spot in heaven it is
enough for me. I know that salvation is through the Grace offered by God
through His Son Jesus Christ. That means I already have my spot in heaven.
But for our service to God He rewards us. There are plenty of scriptures
to back that claim. Jesus spoke of it regularly. Matthew 13:43-45 43Then
the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He
who has ears, let him hear. 44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure
hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his
joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45"Again, the kingdom
of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. Matthew 19:20-22 20
"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still
lack?" 21
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and
give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow
me." 22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he
had
great wealth. Luke 12:32-34 32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for
your
Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions
and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out,
a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near
and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also. 1 Timothy 6:18-19 18Command them to do good, to be rich in good
deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19In this way they will lay
up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that
they may take hold of the life that is truly life. So quit worrying about
this world and what it has to offer. In Matthew 6:28-34 28"And why do you
worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not
labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of
the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will
he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry,
saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we
wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Focus on your service to
God and you will have everything you need. God knows you need money, food,
housing, transportation, school, etc... He will provide those things and
more as long as you seek to earn your treasures in heaven. I have more
wealth then Bill Gates could ever imagine and mine will never be taken away
from me.
