"The U.S. is not Immuned"

We live in a country that permits abortion, allows same sex marriage,
allows gambling, prostitution, crime is a business, stealing is at the
church level, and God is no longer feared. It is a shame that we can't
walk down the street anymore without fear. Our children can no longer go
outside and play without fear. We no longer know our neighbors. We put up
privacy fences now and no longer have school carnivals or neighborhood cook
outs. When I was growing up the only reason you had a fence was to keep
your dog in the back yard and even then it was a chain link fence. I bet
most of you knew your mailman by first name. We knew all of our neighbors
in a two block radius from our house. There were 3 or more events per year
at the school. Every weekend that was nice we were outside. I remember
the times when my dad fired up the "Old Smokey" and we barbecued. He still
makes the best brisket in town. But how many headlines do you read that
even a simple cookout turns deadly or someone got drunk and killed innocent
people in a car accident. We did our share of beer drinking but we didn't
get behind the wheel and we never pulled out guns. I want to share with
you 2 Timothy 3:1-9 and you think about it. Is this what I see today? Is
this where I live today? Most of you will be able to say yes to
everything.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love,
unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the
good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God; having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to
do with them.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over
weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all
kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the
truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose
the truth; men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are
rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those
men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

Think about it
